Strategic Planning: Life Secrets for Success

By November 4, 2014 Leadership No Comments

Turn on any news channel, and you can see a myriad of bad news and newscasters dealing in the business of fear. It’s easy to be fearful when we do not know what the plan is or where we are going. That’s why, especially in election years, fear of the future, economy, and what will happen rises. What we tend to forget is that we control our success. We manage it by having a plan and working on those actions we can direct. A good plan begins with questions.

Where do I want to be in five years?

What resources do I need to use to get there?

What steps need to be in place to meet those goals and objectives?

Are the right people on my team to help achieve the plan?

But before you begin to answer the questions above you first must start with the most important question. Am I satisfied where I am today?  Your dreams really do matter, and if you are not satisfied with the ones you have today it’s time to figure out what you really want in life. The secret is within each of us.

Once your dream is clear and its vision has been drafted on paper, then it is time to take action. Your dreams will create your outlook – that thinking will create focus – focus moves us to action.

Apply these 10 secrets to bring your dreams into focus each day:

  1. Your thoughts control your day.
  2. What you believe creates who you are.
  3. Success is a journey – not a destination.
  4. You improve your life when you improve yourself.
  5. Knowledge is an unending voyage of discovery.
  6. You grow when you face your fears.
  7. Always do what you say you will do.
  8. Don’t start a day until you have it finished.
  9. Give more than you are asked to give.
  10. Your growth as a leader starts right now.

Many of us look around at successful people and wonder what they are doing to be so successful. They keep their dreams in focus. They are thriving because they discovered and practice these 10 secrets daily.

Robert Stuberg said: “The content of one single thought has the power to change the entire world, create vast fortunes, or make any dream a reality.”

You have 50,000 thoughts everyday.
